Last weekend I planted up some zinnia and poppies from seed, the zinnia are already poking through and the mini veg plot additions of peas and spring onions are doing great, this is almost the most exciting time, seeing the dry seed you planted suddenly turn into something green and alive and hopefully eventually pretty bloody tasty!
I also transplanted some herbs I'd grown from seeds and cuttings , the basil especially is doing great, and in the flower garden, the transplanted larkspur and morning glory are loving their new homes.
My pots of winter pansies are going crazy and smell gorgeous, am suprised that they fobt get more attention from the bees!
And finally! I got my 100 mixed bulbs through from the milkman which included Acidanthera, mixed Gladioli, Anemone de Caen and Brodiaea which went in the ground yesterday and were already showing signs of sprouting. They'll hopefully look great alongside the stargazers and peony already in. I'm still deciding what to do with the Liatris which is going to be way to tall for the bed, but have got a couple of dahlia's to go in soon as well. The morello cherry has defied the odds and managed to throw out loads of leaves, fingers crossed for a bumper harvest!
